DESENAM VIITORUL TAU Association sent 4 young people, one with fewer opportunities coming from an orphanage, to take part in the international youth exchange project entitled “The first step to turn your dreams into reality”.
We selected four young people aged 18-28 years, based on applications submitted after the call’s released through social networks and the web page of the organization. The four young people, accompanied by a team leader, took part in the project of international youth exchange “The first step to turn your dreams into reality”, held on 5-14 November in Balikesir, Turkey.
Young people from Ukraine, Spain and Turkey also took part in the project. Through a youth exchange you can meet and get to know people with a different cultural background to better understand other cultures and at the same time to better reflect your own culture. A Youth Exchange enables you to place yourself in a non-formal context with people who you may otherwise would have thought that you have nothing in common, to tear down walls, build lines of communication instead and then make new friends.
Volunteering is one of the best ways to acquire and develop soft skills – helps you gain confidence in those around you, better understand the world around you, diversity, positive valuing of difference and multiculturalism joy.
This was the first youth exchange program organized by DESENAM VIITORUL TAU Association. Soon we will have a special section on the site dedicated to the international volunteering opportunities provided by our association. To be always aware we encourage you to subscribe to the newsletter of the association, follow us on Twitter and Facebook, or regularly check the website of the association www.desenamviitorul.ro to learn more about further opportunities. The following program which we will carry, “Planting the Future” will take place in Eceabat, Turkey, from 8 to 16 February 2015, whoever wants to apply is encouraged to do so!
